If you are a constant web surfer, you know that more and more websites include a lot of ads and pop-ups. Most of the times, these ads and pop-ups are used to promote a product or to transmit a certain idea, but there are some websites that use this method for infecting the user's computer and transmitting a lot of viruses and malware. Most antivirus and even anti-malware applications cannot intercept this and cannot protect you from those viruses until it's too late. Besides that, the ads included in a webpage and also the pop-ups can generate a lot of useless traffic and if you have an Internet connection with a traffic plan, then this could be a real problem.

Fortunately, there are some efficient solutions for stopping ads and pop-ups. One of them is the Adguard application. This simple Windows program can analyze in real time all the traffic generated by web pages and can block any ad or pop-up before it can do any harm. The program can be installed with great ease and supports any Windows version and virtually any web browser, including IE, Chrome and Opera.

After installing and running the program, the user will be presented with a graphical interface which displays in real time the status of the program's protection. By default, the protection is set to on, enabling the program to analyze traffic in real time. At this point, when opening any web page, the area where the ad should be will be empty.

In the main tab of the interface, the amount of traffic processed will be displayed in real time, together with the amount of traffic saved, by not displaying ads and pop-ups. Besides that, by removing ads and pop-ups from any webpage, Adguard can also analyze certain requests and objects generated by certain web pages and can intercept the ones that are dangerous. These objects can be, for example, scripts.

Using the settings tab of the program, the user can configure the program to run together with Windows, for keeping the system continuously protected and can also set the protection level of the program.
